Alex dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall

Alex was informative and supportive, answering many specific questions that simply can't be found online.Just a few days with our puppy using Alex's techniques has shown significant improvements in our puppies overall behaviour. We have some way to go but we are confident we will get there with Alex's support and guidance.

Trainer note from Alex
Puppies are great to work with and most have a thirst to learn new things and a desire please their owners. Puppies are like young children in some respects and clearly can't be taught everything they need to know in 3 hours. Overall several sessions however, we can help them learn how to behave and fit in with their family so that they feel safe and loved. I'm looking forward to the next session with the family.

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling

Alex was very warm and had a good sense of humor. He put us all at ease straight away. There was a lot of information to take in but it was worth it, as it made sense as the training session moved forward. It didn't take long for me to work out that it was me that was in need of training more than Drew. I found it quite difficult at first to do some of the commands I was asked to do, but with practice I cannot believe the difference in Drew and myself. I use to get quite stressed on walks with drew now it is a pleasure. would recommend Bark Busters and if you are lucky enough to get Alex you will have fun and learn some pretty clever techniques.

Trainer note from Alex
Drew is a lovely dog, but a little nervous, especially out and about. Drew also has an owner who is a little nervous of other dogs, so walks were becoming a little difficult for the pair of them. My training is very much about training the owner to train their dog so that the dog trusts them and feels safe when they are with them. Dogs really do pick up on how we are feeling, so a nervous or anxious owner will frequently result in a nervous or anxious dog. If a dog is nervous when out on a walk I want their default reaction to be stand calmly by their owner, rather than bark or snap. This can sometimes take time, but with consistent training, the results can be very rewarding. I have also spoken to Drew's owner who can't believe the difference in her little boy. There is still some work to be done on walks, but I'm delighted with the progress they have made in just 2 weeks and I can't wait for the next session.

From the very first visit there was an immediate change in my dog's behaviour (or should I say mine).... it was like owning a different dog! She responded straight away to the new passive leadership techniques Alex taught me and this resulted quite quickly in her overcoming her considerable anxiety when on walks. No longer is she fearful and stressed. We both enjoy long rambling walks now and it is great to see her running around, eager and enthusiastic. Alex's follow up visits have built on the initial training, reinforcing techniques that had slipped (oops), and putting in place new skills to further develop her obedience training. I am now the owner of a well-behaved and well-adjusted little dog, who is a joy to be around. I would thoroughly recommend Alex and the Bark Busters training techniques.

Trainer note from Alex
Although I know the techniques we teach our clients work, I still really buzz off how happy customers are after the first session. I also enjoy catching up with them on revisits to see for myself how well both dog and owner are doing in all aspects of their life. My last revisit with these 2 involved a lovely walk with a very well behaved little dog and her owner. This is why I love my job!

Alex dealt with Jumping up, Pulling, Separation anxiety

We were at the end of our tether with our 6 years old lurcher Mable, after we had to have our older dog put down at Christmas last year. She was clearly unhappy, howling and being destructive when we were out at work, we dreaded coming home! She was very anxious and unpredictable when out on a walk, so much so we would walk her at ungodly hours round an industrial estate to avoid traffic, people and other animals. Hence we called BarkBusters. Alex has been great; understanding Mable's behaviour and giving us an insight into her world. No surprise that we were the main problems! Alex has taught us some simple techniques and provided training tools to use with Mable and whilst she's not perfect (I wouldn't want that cos she'd loose her character!!!) she is better mannered. She will walk on the lead without lunging at people; other dogs (Stuffed or not) and cats are still a work in progress. She doesn't charge through doors anymore and try and make a bid for freedom when I open the front door. She is still far from thrilled when we go to work, but the separation anxiety appears to be easing gradually. Although she still greats me with a head through the blinds when I come home, my neighbours inform she is no longer spending the entire day howling. I have found the training sessions relaxed and enjoyable for both myself and Mable and Alex has also provided email support when needed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex.

Trainer note from Alex
Like so many dogs that I work with, some of their issues take time and effort to resolve whereas other can be fixed so much quicker. Mable is a slightly nervous dog and she used to get very excited when she was walked on her lead, leaping around all over the place. So much so her owners used to try and walk her when they knew there would be very few people around which is clearly not ideal!! The last time I went I was delighted to see she was walking to heel really well. She was also much calmer in herself. Separation anxiety can time to resolve, but from what I saw last time I visited them, I'm confident she will continue to improve when she is left home alone.

Alex dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Toileting

My main problems seemed to be that my dogs were acting like a pack and when one started barking the others joined in. one of my dogs was very anxious and barked all the time especially when we were out barking at people and other dogs. through Alex's help i have learned how to try and prevent them from barking. it is early days yet but there is great improvement and there is not nearly as much barking when we go out. i have also had to show them that i am the pack leader and that there are rules that they must follow and it is much easier than i thought to do this. i still have a slight problem with my Bischon Frise who is still at 10 months old weeing in the house especially her crate over night. I am pleased to say that this is getting better and it is early days. with Alex's help things are definitely calmer in our house and i would recommend him to anyone who is having problems with there dogs.

Another successful multi dog job - I just love them!! This was a one off session, so I am delighted with the results we achieved in just 3 hours. Her pack really started to listen to her. Not all issues can be resolved in just 3 hours, however I am confident that if she follows the plan that we put in place she will achieve the results she desires. Keep u the good work.

Alex dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Pulling

We had an issue with our two 8 year old Border Terriers who had developed an embarrassingly overreaction when leaving the house to go for a walk. They would leave the house frantically barking, screaming and choking themselves on their leads. It was of such a severe degree they would be indifferent to our attempts to calm them down and deaf to any our commands which (when calm) they would normally follow without issue. We tried pretty much every tactic going to correct this behaviour but were having no success whatsoever. After contacting Bark Busters, we were assigned to Alex Fraser who in just a few hours, taught us everything we needed to know to correct the undesirable behaviour. Alex listened attentively to everything we said about our dogs and got a thorough in-depth knowledge of them as individuals. Nothing was rushed or generic, it really felt like it was tailored and personal to us. From explaining to us about passive leadership, teaching us the correct communication/body language, easy to follow demonstrations, written guidance and patiently practicing with each family member, he taught us real and practical solutions. Solutions that we can continue to use on our own. I would also like to like to say that our dogs enjoyed and engaged with the training and it wasn't a gruelling or stressful situation in any way whatsoever. Because of Alex and his training, there has been a significant improvement in our dogs which we are very grateful for. I would recommend Bark Busters (in particular Alex) to anyone.

- -.R, Rochdale, Lancashire (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Although I know our training techniques work, it's always so rewarding to hear how pleased the owners are after the first session! I never actually witnessed the full excitement that 2 border terriers used to exhibit when they went walking as they were far more focused before we left the house. I've also received further updates on how well they are doing. Recently they had workmen in and both dogs were on their best behaviour which was great to hear!! Keep up the good work.

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling

We were at the end of our tether with our little French Bulldog. He used to bark if anybody walked passed our house and he used to bark a lot if somebody came into our house. He also used to snap at other dogs when we walked him because he was attacked by a big dog when he was younger. following our training with Alex we quickly stopped his barking which is great. It has taken longer to stop him snapping at other dogs, but he is so much better we no longer get stressed when we walk him. Thank you so much for all your help Alex

- -.S, Bury, Lancashire (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
He is a lovely little boy, but he was simply a bit nervous hence his barking and dog aggression. Some issues do take longer to resolve than others however to resolve any of his issues it is important that he starts to feel safe when he is with his owners so that he doesn't feel he has to bark or protect himself when out on walks. Great progress has been made and I am so proud of both the dog and his owners.

Alex dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Puppy management

After just one session with Alex I can now stop my little boy from barking if he starts and he barks far less than he ever has. I am so pleased with training. My daughter is also making good progress with her puppy. We would recommend Bark Busters and Alex to anybody who is having problems with their dog.

Its fun working with dogs of different ages and it proves that it doesn't matter how old the dogs are. The techniques that I will show you will help you train your puppy or older dog and ensure that they become well behaved girls or boys.

Ralph & Bertie have come on so much following our training days with Alex. Ralph was a particular problem especially off the lead with other dogs. Both dogs were also becoming increasingly difficult to walk on the lead. With the use of Alex's training techniques and the Bark Buster training collar and lead my dog walks have become much less stressful! The best tip from Alex for me was gaining control in the house first. Being in charge of the dogs in the home makes outside training easier. This really worked for me! We have just returned from a weekend at the caravan. Ralph and Bert behaved brilliantly! Still some 'Bahing' from me but really happy! Thanks Alex!

- -.G, Swinton, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Ralph and Bertie's owner makes a really valid point which is the importance of gaining full control of your dogs in the home. When I first met them all and we discussed the history of her little boys and the issues she was having, the majority of issues related to experiences outside the family home. We started work inside where there were no added distractions to ensure she had full focus of both Ralph and Bertie. We built in some basic manners so that both dogs became compliment and respectful when she walked through doorways or went up and down stairs. Once this work had been done she felt far more confident taking them both out and walking quickly became a far more pleasurable experience. I am looking forward to catching up with them all on Monday.

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Chewing, Jumping up, Puppy management, Sibling rivalry, Toileting, Other

Adequate time was given at the lesson and Alex made sure I fully understood his instructions; whilst he assessed me carry out his instructions. On Alex's arrival it was a mad house; upon him leaving, it was like heaven. He left me feeling confident I could manage the behaviours discussed during the first lesson. Top class instructor.

Trainer note from Alex
As I entered the customer's house for the first time, it was a little difficult to hear oneself think with 6 little dogs all barking away excitedly!! Besides the barking, I soon discovered there were a number of issues that we needed to deal with which included some sibling rivalry and a lot of jumping up. Before long we had restored calm in her home and all the dogs were listening to her and were much more focused on their new pack leader. We built in some ground rules and although all of the dogs were used to jumping up on the couches when ever they wanted, they soon all settled together on a comfy blanket on the floor. It was lovely to see. The most surprising thing of all was that before I left the family cat came into the front room for the first time ever due to the fact the room was so much calmer. The owner nearly fell off her seat. I can't wait to return and see how they are all doing.

One session and calm has been restored in our household. I am amazed how quickly our dogs responded to these simple changes and they are so much more relaxed and happy which makes for a happy household - thanks again Alex

Trainer note from Alex
It was so lovely catching up with my own puppy's Mummy and Granny, but boy could these 2 bark when anybody came to the door or entered the house! Within 2 hours of being there we had 2 much calmer and definitely much quieter TT's. Work will be needed to ensure they remain calm and quiet. Timing and consistency is also key to ensuring your dog/s are well behaved. In the case of these 2, I am more than confident that next time we all meet up their constant barking will be a thing of the past.

Alex is fantastic! Bella is still a puppy learning and with Alex helping we have already seen a big difference in things. Really glad we called on Bark Busters for support. Looking forward to see Alex again this weekend to work on walking and putting lead on with out Bella mouthing.

Trainer note from Alex
I've said it before and I'm sure I'll be saying it again before long... ......this is why I love working with puppies! Bella is a gorgeous GS, but she is going to be a big dog when she grows up. This is why it is so important to get things right from the start. I'm looking forward to catching up with them all again this weekend so we can get her walking to heel.
