The training that both dogs received was excellent, Judy was our main problem as she was very aggressive towards other dogs and would constantly pull on the lead. Judy is a Rotti and therefore is very strong, she is capable of pulling me to the ground (which happened often) which meant walking her became very stressful.
Alex spent 3 hours at our home and identified very quickly Judy's needs. He taught us how to deal with the aggression that she was showing while out walking. He also taught us how to deal barking, front door manners and boundary control. After the training we took Judy and Bruno out for a walk and it was like having a different dog. We followed the techniques shown to us by Alex and Judy did not act in the aggressive way that she had done for 3 years, she was easy to control and focused on us rather than try and pull away. This has made our lives so much easier and I highly recommend this training as we now have a happier dog and are happier owners.

Our 5 year old collie nipped our 4 year old daughter and we called Barkbusters to help, this was a last chance for Monty as if we couldn't have him and the children living in harmony then the next stop would be the dog's home. Alex was great and reminded us of the basics that we had been taught years ago by a previous barkbusters trainer and within an hour Monty was like a different dog. This has continued long after the training and the house feels a lot calmer now he doesn't stress so much.

They had used Bark Busters a number of years ago and went for the lifetime guarantee. Recently they started to have some issues with Monty so I went to see them to assist. Monty had become quite protective of the young children and was guarding them in the garden. His owners required a refresher to make Monty realise he was no longer in charge and by the end of the session he was a much calmer dog. I was delighted with the results and so were his owners.

Our first session with Alex was a great introduction to puppy training. Rita (cockapoo puppy) is our first dog and so we were in need of some guidance. Alex was great with Rita and the techniques he showed us worked straight away. He was very patient with us and answered our stream of questions along with reassuring us that we were doing a decent job raising our puppy.
Alex is great at fitting round us for visits (including evenings and weekends). He is very flexible and works around us whether we want frequent short visits or longer visits every so often.
Alex has been working with us for over 3 months now and we are still learning new things with each visit. All of the equipment he has supplied us with is top notch and we have found the Bark Busters products to have been especially helpful!
I would definitely recommend Alex to anyone who is looking for a personal and professional dog training service!

Taking on a puppy can be hard work, even for those people that have always had dogs. So taking on your first puppy can be a real worry for some people. I frequently get asked "are we doing it right?" Often people are doing most things right, having done some research of their own, however I have realised that they really appreciate the ongoing support and being steered in the right direction from time to time when they go a little off track. I am thoroughly enjoying helping Rita's parents and it has been great watching her grow up. She has come on leaps and bounds since I first met her some 3 to 4 months back and I know she will continue to develop into a lovely well behaved dog. Keep up the good work

The first time I met Maggie and her owners they explained that she would get very stressed when she went outside and would bark at absolutely everything - and they weren't wrong. By the end of the first session the improvement in her behaviour outside was really excellent. She responded really well to her communication collar and the correction we used. I was delighted!!

Alex was professional and friendly, his love for dogs apparent from the start. Ellie our boarder collie responded to his firm yet patient training. He explained everything clearly, and his training instructions were easy to follow. Ellie is our third collie, but by far the most challenging . We found his training instructions logical, and saw a improvement very quickly.

Even experienced dog owners who have owned a number of dogs, often the same breed, will every once in a while take on a dog that proves to be a bit of a handful. Ellie was one such dog, however her owner really listened to what I had to say and has worked hard to address her behavioural issues. I am really pleased with how they have both done and am confident things will continue to get better.

Alex dealt with Separation anxiety
Our new rescue dog had such severe Separation Anxiety we thought we would not be able to keep him. after a couple of hours with Alex, the change is remarkable, we are not there yet but the condition is now manageable hopefully in a few weeks he will be over it completely. Thanks Alex,

Resolving separation anxiety issues often takes time and a lot of hard work, however i was delighted they started to see a difference in his behaviour as quickly as they did. They clearly put a ;ot of time in with their new dog - good work!!

Alex has provided us both with a really good insight into Ellie's behavior and we have seen improvements immediately following on from each of his three sessions with us to date. In a short space of time Ellie's house manners changed hugely and she now waits to be invited onto furniture and we have much greater confidence in letting her off her lead in open spaces and a local woods. She has always returned to us even when she has met and played with other dogs and pups which is a big relief for us. Ellie was finding road walking quite stressful (and so were we!) and she was barking and leaping at passing cars almost continuously. We have followed Alex's advice carefully and we are now seeing a much calmer Ellie and she has almost completely stopped her barking at cars.

With a new baby on the way we are really pleased our dog has calmed down since Alex's first visit. we were really worried about his aggression and we really wanted him to know who was boss before the baby came along. By the end of the first session we could see a massive improvement and I know if we keep putting the time in we will all get a lot out of it. Thank you

Benny is a lovely dog with a cracking personality, but he did think that he ruled the home. By the end of the first session he had already started to show signs of improvement and he was much calmer. His walking on the lead was also much better. With a consistent approach to his ongoing training I am confident Benny will welcome the new addition to their family with open paws!

Alex was wonderful, after his first visit I felt more confident.
Harvey our 16 month old Bernese Mountain Dog liked to pull like a train, bark , jump up at visitors as well as eating rubbish , sticks and not coming back when let off the lead!!!! Which made walking him a nightmare. I usually came back more stressed!!
Alex explained everything in detail and went over things each visit . After the first visit, I felt in charge .
We have made good progress and enjoy our sessions with Alex. I now let him off the lead and he is always looking where I am and bounds back.
Although he still manages to eat one or two bits, he is 80 % better , I am not as stressed. I know with continued training Harvey will go from strength to strength .
Thank you very much Alex. I wish we had discovered Bark Busters sooner. Home , one to one training definitely works for us . Knowing that with the lifetime guarantee we can call Alex , should we need too, is a real bonus.

Sometimes it is also about empowering the owner so that they feel they have full control of their dog both inside and outside of the home. Harvey was great fun to work with and I would happily have smuggled him out in my pocket and taken him home, if it wasn't for the fact that he was far too big to fit in my pocket. I really hope Liz and Harvey keep me posted on how they are doing and it would be great to catch up at some point in the future and go walking.

Alex has been a real help with our new puppy Border Terrier. Emphasising the positive way of training, he is contributing to Stanley becoming a well behaved and well-rounded dog. Early one-to-one training is proving to be a great way of helping Stanley develop.

I love working with owners and their puppies and watching the puppies grow and develop into well-behaved dogs. Just like young children, puppies need to have ground rules so they understand what behaviour is acceptable when living with their family. It's important to never rush sessions and often, more frequent, but briefer sessions work best, touching base with the owners to make sure everything is on track. Puppies can be a lot of work, but put the effort in from the start and remain consistent, and you will have a well-behaved dog. I am really looking forward to future sessions with Stanley!

Alex could see straightaway some of the behaviour we needed to correct in Tilly, the main reason we got in touch with Alex was because Tilly had started to seem nervous of my partner and was behaving aggressively towards him. The techniques were so easy to learn but really effective, Tilly started to respond to the growling straight away. She also walked much better on the lead quickly. I am confident that with some hard work we will have a much happier dog!

When I first arrived it was clear to see that Tilly thought she was somewhere near the top of her pack (I hadn't seen a dog use its owner, who was stood at the time, as a springboard before. Quite impressive, but unfortunately not a behaviour we want). We needed to put some ground rules in place. In regards to the aggression Tilly has shown to one of her owners, it is important that we don't rush things. Tilly needs to realise that both her owners are solid pack leaders. They will both have to be consistent and practise the exercises that were set. I am confident they will get there... especially looking at how well she walked to heel by the end of the first session in comparison to how she used to pull like a train beforehand. Keep up the good work and I'll see you soon.
