Dog Training Dartford & Home Puppy Education Classes
Welcome to dog training Dartford, my name is Sydney Coleman, and I am your local Bark Busters dog behaviour trainer and therapist. I’m looking forward to meeting you to help you with all your dog training needs or to help you resolve your dog's behaviour problems. If you are not fully enjoying your time with your dog, I can help you get the relationship back on track.
Unlike traditional dog training classes my training takes place in your home. This is where your dog is more relaxed and more receptive to taking onboard command and information. This is also where the unwanted behaviour problems tend to start too. For example, if your dog is a nightmare on the lead, barking and lunging, it's likely that this behaviour is a symptom of what started in the home, and is being extended outside. Afterall, most dogs spend 20+ hours in the home every day. The subtle things in the home that go unnoticed, can lead to big problems outside the home. However, don't worry because where you are experiencing problems outside of the home, we venture out to assess the problems and build practical training outside the home too.
Building a solid foundation of focus, trust and leadership is one of the keys to reversing the unwanted behaviour. My training method is based around voice tone and body language to communicate with your dog and leverage its natural communication skills. It's easy to follow, and in most cases is fast acting and it provides long lasting results.
How my dog training and behaviour programme works
If you are looking for professional dog training near you in Dartford, then you have found the right place. I come to your home to meet you and your family, and we discuss your concerns, assess the behaviour problems and your training needs. Every dog is different, so I develop a tailored training plan to suit you and your dog. If you are experiencing problems outside the home, we will have the opportunity to venture outside too, to assess and address the behaviours.
I coach and demonstrate the training techniques and fun games, to replicate real problems, as we educate your dog and resolve the unwanted behaviours and apply the new or wanted behaviours. I won't leave you until you are happy with the training techniques. Continue to practice daily to develop the new positive behaviours and you will get the results you want.

About Sydney Coleman
I was born in North Kent, and I grew up around dogs. My mother used to foster dogs and often failed to find them homes because she loved them too much! We did have 7 at one time which were mostly labradors, but also Shih Tzus too. They were a part of my life, and I always became involved in their training, helping to walk and retrain them, ready for their new homes.
I went to college, and I studied business and marketing management. After graduating, it became clear that I really wasn't enjoying my roles in business or finding fulfilment. However, luckily, my mother who had moved to a different part of the country was a successful Bark Busters behaviour therapist and trainer. When I visited and stayed with her, I realised that this would be a perfect career move for me and a way to satisfy my love of dogs and to help people to fully enjoy their furry family members. I applied and after my extensive training, it was the best decision of my life.
The two dogs in my family have both had behaviour problems in the past. Buster, a labrador now 10 years old, was reactive to other dogs and a puller on the lead too, but using the Bark Busters kind, calm and positive communication approach, I now enjoy my walks as he can have fun running around off lead. My other dog is Enzo, a cockerpoo, who came to us as a puppy for my younger sister and had the usual puppy behaviours of chewing carpets and furniture, toilet accidents and biting hands with his needle teeth. What can I say, he's a cockerpoo and needed a lot of education to respond to requests. He was hard work, but he is now a lovely 4-year-old that I can feel proud of.
If you are a new or an experienced dog owner and have a behaviour problem that is ongoing or only just appeared, have a rescue dog who needs help to settle, have a new puppy and want to give them the best start in life, or you would like advice before you get a new puppy, I would love to help. Please do contact me for a no obligation chat and to find out more about the ways we can work together to have the dog you've always wanted.
