31st March 2013 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Pulling, Recall, Other

Bella and Hattie are generally well behaved but we felt we needed some help with Hattie in particular. Being a Lurcher letting her off the lead was always a bit of a lottery and Lynn has shown us the steps to take to improve Hattie's recall and general obedience. Lynn has also helped us to change the behaviour of both dogs (and us) especially walking to heel so no more pulling on the leads! Her help has been invaluable in helping us understand our dogs better and by small changes in our approach to discipline has immensely improved our relation ship with our dogs.

29th March 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling

What can I say. My only regret is that I did not find Alex sooner. I'm genuinely amazed at the difference Alex has made. My dog is not young, I've tried other training before which taught the usual sit, stay, etc etc. He knew fine well what heel meant - there was just no way I could ever get him to do it outside of the controlled environment of a training class. Plus he hated it, as, I must admit, did I!!! Well, no more!! Alex does not teach 'tricks', he teaches you to understand how to relate to your dog in ways they will understand, and there is no doubt, IT WORKS! I really enjoyed our session, but, most importantly so did my dog. Thank you Alex, we now proudly walk, rather than being dragged, down the street. I also have full control of all aspects of his behaviour. Meeting other male dogs used to fill me with dread but, that too, is a thing of the past. WINNER! Thumbs up from this very proud owner and her calmer, happier dog.

26th March 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Jumping up, Pulling

Blown away with the results after Alex's first visit. Sunday is a great dog with bags of personality but she was the boss and had me wrapped around her paws. Alex has given me the confidence and ability to take positive control of her behaviour. Before our training with Alex I used to get dragged to the park but now we walk, dog at my side, under my full control. Alex has also given me the expertise to keep Sunday's behaviour in check at home. I can now be the boss of my household again and can look forward to inviting friends over without the usual worry of the dog jumping up and demanding attention. Stressful times have gone and I can't stop grinning. The results really are amazing - Huge thumbs up from me Alex- Thank you so much for your help!!!!!!!!

25th March 2013 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Jumping up

Lynn was very business-like .She had lots of practical suggestions as to how we were to take control of Toby so as to prevent him jumping up and bullying us. She gave us a great deal of confidence. Toby's behavior improved almost immediately. I wish we had contacted BarkBusters before.

19th March 2013 - Graham Milgrew

Graham dealt with Aggression, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall

Teddy & Derek didn't have the best start in life being in a rescue centre in Spain for the first 5 months of their lives and having very little human contact. We felt we had made good progress in integrating these frightened little dogs into the family and giving them a happy and stable home. However, there were still a few things they did that we were not happy with, in particular they would jump up and bark at small children. Jo explained to us, why the dogs reacted the way they did to children. She also pointed out how they reacted to one another, to us and more importantly how we reacted to them, and what we were doing wrong!. She explained what needed to be done to overcome the problems we are having and left us with some exercises to get us started. We are already seeing a difference in the way 'the boys' react to each other and to us and we are looking forward to continuing to work with Jo to resolve the issues we have. I have already recommended Jo to a number of people and wouldn't hesitate to do so in the future.

- -.J, Hockley, Essex (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Graham
These terrier cross breed dogs were lucky enough to find the right family from the outset. They have patiently integrated the dogs slowly but surely into their family lives and nurtured the relationship to the point where the dogs were ready to pay attention and listen to them instead of scurrying behind the sofa. They have done amazingly well and just needed to know how to keep progressing with the dogs. When dogs have had such little human contact as these there is no "quick fix". Everything has to be done patiently without rushing, so the dogs are confident that "their humans" will protect them from what scares them (children) and look after them. They really are delightful dogs and are an advertisement for what can be done with very damaged dogs when they find the right homes.

18th March 2013 - Lee Hardy

Its early days but after the first session we are confident that our dog's behaviour can be turned around. The techniques are simple and effective

18th March 2013 - Andy Waterhouse

Andy dealt with Barking, Pulling, Sibling rivalry

We were very happy with the techniques our therapist showed us in order to help us address some of Blue's behaviour. We feel he is a much happier dog. We followed the nutritional advice given and Blue adapted to his new diet well. We are still training Blue but it is so much easier when you have an understanding of why your dog behaves in a certain manner.

Lee dealt with Aggression, Barking

From the beginning of the session, we had a very positive experience. All techniques were explained clearly and are easy to follow and use. A very relaxed but thoroughly informative meeting which has made Denzal a happier dog and life with him much more enjoyable, so happier owners. Being able to speak "dog" is fabulous

14th March 2013 - Graham Milgrew

Graham dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling, Recall, Toileting

After receiving a letter from the council regarding a complaint about my dogs barking especially late at night, I contacted Jo at Bark Busters. Within days I had my dogs barking under control and so life is much less stressful for myself, my dogs and my neighbours. Jo has addressed every issue I have with my dogs explaining fully why they do it. I have been retrained in my approach and handling of my dogs and they have responded beautifully. I recommend Jo to all dogs and their owners!

- -.W, Herongate, Essex (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Graham
This owner was distraught to find that she was upsetting her neighbours and quickly put everything she needed in place to get her dogs (Jack Russell Terriers/Chihuahua crosses) to stop barking and listen to her. Particular credit is due as one of her dogs has a very serious medical condition and his ill health was the main reason for her allowing bad behaviour in the first place. She has had such good results she is now methodically tackling other problems such as submissive weeing in the house and dog to dog aggression with very good effect. It is a delight for me to see such happy and settled dogs.

13th March 2013 - Sharon Chapman

Sharon dealt with Barking

Sharon is lovely. I was nervous expecting to be criticised, held to blame in some way. She was calming, reassuring and professional. Explained things in a way I could relate to. Set some exercises in place which we practised. Took us for a walk to observe his fear with other dogs. Advised afterwards. Left us feeling calm and in control. Now awaiting her second visit which she mentioned bringing one of her dogs along to introduce a positive experience for him.

- -.C, Bebington, Merseyside (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Sharon
Bo is a lovely young GSD he is just not sure of other dogs, so he barks but due to his size and breed he can be misunderstood, Chris needed to know that he wasn't naughty or aggressive, just unsure. Since receiving her comments Bo has met my dog Rafa and is beginning to understand that other dogs aren't scary but good fun to play with, and Chris now has the confidence and knowledge to ensure that all his experiences with other dogs are positive.
