Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

5th June 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Pulling

I enjoyed working with Alex, he is very easy going and I felt comfortable. My Cairn terrier Bobbi was adopted from manchester dogs home in december 2012. Her main problem is aggression towards any new dogs she meets on our walks. She is my fourth dog and I've never experienced this problem before so it came as a shock as she is such a sweetie in many ways. Her behaviour knocked my confidence and though I tried not to be, I found I was getting anxious on walks which didn't help. I had searched the internet for tips and tried different ways of managing Bobbi, but came to realise I couldn't handle her without some one to one help. Alex reminded me to be 'pack leader' and when he told me about using 'Bah' I was self conscious at first but I knew I'd have to get over it. I find it also deters other dogs off the lead, as well as controlling Bobbi. She used to bark wildly and lunge snapping and growling. Now we can mostly pass by unknown dogs without a problem! Bobbi has lots of off lead time and gets along fine with dogs she knows and she was ok with Alex's dog Max the first time they met. She's still a work in progress and as I'm an early riser we go out around 7am when there a only a few other dog walkers up and about and we all know each other now. I feel much more confident and able to manage situations. Bobbi responds to 'Bah' very well even if she happens to be off lead in the park and an unknown dog appears, she will come back to me instead of charging off to attack. We're still practicing front door work and her barking at the many neighbourhood cats! All in all were happy and Bobbi seems much more content now I'm in charge.

- -.H, Manchester, Greater Manchester (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
I am really pleased that Bobbi's owner has her confidence back which will really help both of them when they are out on walk. It was also great involving my dog Max in my work and it was lovely to see them interacting together on a walk. I look forwards to visiting them both in a month or two and will certainly be taking Max with me!

4th June 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall

Even though Arthur is still only 7 months old, the advice given to us by Alex made a huge difference after the first session, poor Arthur was cream crackered after 2 1/2 hrs. Alex is always on hand to provide help over the phone and we will be arranging another home visit just to make sure we stay on the right track. It is reassuring that you can get all the help you need with your dog with no extra hidden costs - money well spent.

- -.J, Helmshore, Lancashire (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
Arthur was a lovely dog to work with - so eager to learn. I am confident that if they continue with techniques I have shown them he will be a pleasure to have around and will walk beautifully on his lead!

4th June 2013 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Recall

Being a massive dog loving family we started off with 2 dogs which quickly grew to 4 dogs and now 5! Now we have a pack and things started to get really difficult with training. Calling the dogs back to us became almost impossible and chasing horses became a real issue (we own an equestrian business). All our dogs have no collars and are free to roam. After various methods of shouting and treats we were not getting anywhere and felt we had nothing left to try. We contacted Bark Busters and Alex came to our rescue. What amazing, simple and easy to use techniques he uses. They worked instantly with our pack......no shouting, collars or treats! Our dogs are now completely different and are so much happier to be in a settled pack. I can not recommend Alex at Bark Busters highly enough! His friendly approach and techniques will change you and your dog, or in our case, pack of fives live's. Thank you Alex

Trainer note from Alex
I had an amazing day working with their five dogs!! This was the first time I had worked with more than two dogs at one session and I really had to 'think outside the box' due to the fact the dogs rarely wear collars or leads. The session exceeded my expectations and I finished the day on such a high!! I'm not sure who was more pleased with the results - their owners or myself......

30th May 2013 - Sharon Chapman

Sharon dealt with Puppy management

Sharon arrived on time, she was very relaxed and easy to talk to. The issue for us was that we have introduced a new pup to our 4 year old Yorkie Henry. We were concerned that Henry was not accepting Pascha and wanted to address any issues before they became major issues. Sharon gave us great advice which resulted in Henry becoming much more relaxed with Pascha within half an hour. The dogs responded to Sharon well and she showed great affection for animals. She assured us that what is occurring between our dogs is perfectly natural and she sees no behaviour problem, all was explained in depth and great techniques provided. I would recommend this service to anyone that has concerns re their pets.

Lynn was excellent. Right from the first time she walked in, she had the measure of Leia and was able to steer us in the right direction. We could see results instantly. She covered all the essentials that we asked for including walking on the lead, crate training, attention training and dietry needs. By the time Lynn left I felt confident that I would have a well adjusted dog by following her training. I cannot thank her enough and I would certainly recommend her to anyone who has a dog.

19th May 2013 - Graham Milgrew

Graham dealt with Chewing, Puppy management, Recall, Other

Our experience of Jo's training with us and our puppy was none other than excellent. During her home visit, Jo helped us with everything from advice on diet to crate training; basic commands through to advance warning on dealing with socialisation with friends and family with such a cute puppy (and he is cute!) and all in between. We found Jo, professional, friendly and very proficient in her knowledge of all of the things new dog owners should/need to know. We knew that the main aim of our session with Jo was not so much to train our puppy, rather to train us to be confident in our 'parenting' and help us to make informed choices. She worked with us rather than dictated to us and by the end of the day we felt much more equipped and ready to enjoy puppy training and life with our pup in general. We were a lot more confident to move forward and training is fun now rather than slightly daunting! We wanted to give our puppy the best possible start in life and with Jo's support we hope that is what we are doing. She is very clear and patient and evidently loves what she does. We've already recommended her to friends who have benefited from her expertise and would not hesitate to do this again to anyone who may need a little guidance or support. Thank you Jo! Ali, Anna and of course, puppy Locksley.

- -.A, Charlton, London (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Graham
These owners had made all the right decisions. They had researched their puppy's breed, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. They has checked out the breeder, consulted their Vet, read about Puppy training and set up their home so that Locksley was safe, secure and under supervision at all times. However, like many owners they found there was lots of conflicting advice and made the decision to pre-empt any possible future problems by getting advice specific to their lives and their puppy. Locksley is a delightful puppy who was the "runt" of the litter. Because of the obvious health issues these puppies can often be "babied" by their unsuspecting owners who know they would have been bullied by their siblings and feel sorry for them, but "runts" often survive by either running away or becoming "scrappers" and fighting their siblings so they actually need confident owners who can build the puppy's confidence so they can handle all situations without the need to run away or fight. Locksley is fortunate to have such owners and is growing into a dog that can cope with all situations he encounters and happily be himself.

17th May 2013 - Sharon Chapman

Sharon dealt with Jumping up, Pulling, Separation anxiety

Sharon is lovely. She explained everything thoroughly to me and I now realise why Trevor behaves like he does. We practise every day he is extremely stubborn but is starting to respond in a more positive way. He was never socialised before we had him and is quite scarred of other dogs eventually I'm hoping we can walk past another dog without him becoming anxious
