Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

30th November 2015 - Graham Milgrew

Graham dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Separation anxiety, Other

We approached Bark Busters as initially we were concerned that Oscar our 7 year old Yorkshire Terrier was growling at our adult daughter if she came into the room. He was also jumping up at visitors and barking whenever anyone came into the home or walked past in his view. We called Jo for further help when my husband retired and Oscar became anxious when left on his own. Jo helped us to understand why he was behaving in this way and how we could address the issues. We have noticed a marked improvement and Oscar (and my daughter!) are now much happier.

29th November 2015 - Angela Young

Remote Training Team dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall

I couldn't recommend Angela highly enough the difference she made is amazing. Bonnie was always jumping up at the tv, she has completely stopped now. Taking her out walking is so much more enjoyable now as she used to always bark when seeing other dogs and pull on the lead. Angela explained some very good techniques and a new lead to stop this and they really do work, we also changed her diet which she is certainly loving. Bonnie is so much more relaxed and happy so thanks very much.

Trainer note from Remote Training Team
Beautiful Bonnie was having stressful reactions to dogs on walks and to animals on the TV, so her lovely family had to be very quick with the remote to fast forward and avoid her launching at the screen! Now that they know how to communicate with her in a way that she understands and they are able to help her accept these situations without becoming anxious, Bonnie is a much more relaxed little girl.

28th November 2015 - Lee Hardy

Lee dealt with Chewing, Jumping up, Puppy management, Toileting

This was a first lesson for a 8 week old Labrador. Lee focuses on our ability to focus the dogs discipline such as chewing, biting and jumping up at the owners. Explained the use of a dog crate and how to get the dog use to the crate. Toileting options were explained At this stage We thought the initial lesson was well targeted at both the dog and the owners

26th November 2015 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Barking, Recall, Other

Extremely helpful although I found it hard to take everything in but with the help of the training instructions I am making progress with Daisy. Perhaps two visits to cover what we did on 19/11 and to include more time on recall which I know I am going to need more help from Lynn on. When I phone Lynn after 14 days I will be asking her to return, I think Lynn will be expecting that. Lynn is a very good instructor and I was very happy with the time she spent with us.

25th November 2015 - Kevin McDonnell

Kevin dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Pulling, Separation anxiety, Other

Kevin filled us with confidence when we first spoke to him on the phone and that was more than justified when we met. His calm demeanour made us believe that he could do what he said he could and that proved to be true. First he talked us through the plan, then went through our problems giving us the advice and the tools to carry it out. We were amazed that separation anxiety was down to our behaviour with Kee but that we could also alleviate it when we put Kevin's advice into practice. The same calmness carried us through what we need to do to stop Kee barking at passing dogs, pulling on the lead and best of all Kee's fear and anxiety around other dogs. We didn't think for one minute that progress could be made in one day but boy, were we wrong! The icing on the cake came when we took Kee and Kevin's dogs onto Dartmoor and Kee was let off the lead - for the very first time with other dogs. After an initial growl, they played together like lifetime buddies, running and jumping, having the time of their lives! We are not so naive as to think that is the end of it. We are very aware that we have to continue with the training that Kevin taught us so that the behaviour we want from Kee in order for him to have a happy and balanced life will become second nature to him and to us. This is a 5 star service given by a 5 star expert. We are so grateful to Kevin for all his help and to know that he is there for us if we need him

22nd November 2015 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Jumping up, Pulling, Separation anxiety

Lynn explained every aspect of why Poppy was behaving as she was and how we were exacerbating the situation by letting her think she was looking after us. Once we got the hang of showing her we didn't need her to look after us, she calmed down and went off to her bed. We are steadily increasing the time she can be left alone, she may whinge a bit but not like she was before, screaming, pacing and throwing herself at the gate or door. Lead walking is improving with practice - I take her for a walk now. All the information given is clear and was explained to us. We also changed Poppy on to a natural diet which she absolutely loves. It was a lot of money to pay out in one go but worth it to get the help we needed and to know that we can go back at any time in the next year for more help and advice should we need it.

22nd November 2015 - Lee Hardy

Lee dealt with Aggression, Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Separation anxiety, Toileting

We were amazed at how quickly Tara responded to her lesson and the difference to her very active demeanor. She took to Lee and took notice of him and previously had been threatening, over active and although had not actually bitten, been aggressive when corrected. We hope she will continue and become the dog of our dreams and a joy to own. Although we still have a long way to go and appreciate it can not all happen overnight with a dog who has had so many and long standing issues.

21st November 2015 - Lynn Prentice

Lynn dealt with Barking, Jumping up, Recall, Other

I learned so much about Alfie and he is like a different dog after only a few days of putting the training into action. The biggest thing for me is he was barking so much and wouldn't sleep in his bed. He doesn't bark anymore, he sleeps in jus own bed and is so much happier. Thank you for letting me enjoying my lovely little dog again after only three hours of training.

19th November 2015 - Alex Fraser

Alex dealt with Aggression, Barking, Sibling rivalry

A most enjoyable session, I learnt a great deal - as did my dogs, who to my surprise where very attentive. Of particular help was how to stop Harris from grabbing anything that came through the letter box and treating it as his prey which he needed to kill (I.e. Ripping it to shreds)! Also I feel a lot more confident and in control of them when they are together and less fearful of a fight breaking out between them.

- -.S, Manchester, Merseyside (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Alex
I have met plenty of dogs that get excited when the post arrives, but I had never met a dog that got quite as focused as Harris. This made life a little difficult when trying to retrieve post from the porch when he was around. Once we get the dogs to start listening to and respecting their owner, we can start to focus on particular issues. I can't believe how much better he is doing with not attacking the post. The next session will be dedicated to his sisters recall. I can't wait!
