Dog Training Tamworth & Home Puppy Classes
Welcome to dog training Tamworth, my name is Sarah Coleman, and I am your local Bark Buster dog behaviourist, therapist and trainer. If you’re not enjoying your furry member of the family all the time, there is a tendency for us to "manage" the behaviour rather than find the best way to improve it. Behaviour problems can be resolved with the right training techniques, using gentle, fun games that replicate real life situations or problems that are currently impacting your enjoyment with each other.
Dogs see the world in a very different way to us humans, so it’s understandable that we sometimes find that the dog we hoped would be a great addition to the family, has become unruly, noisy, destructive, aggressive, and seemingly unpredictable in some way. It sometimes seems that our dogs become defiant or trying to punish us in some way. However, they just see the world in a canine way, so it’s important for us humans to learn their language.
I love my work and get huge satisfaction from coaching dog owners to use the fun training techniques developed and adapted for over three decades by the many of my fellow Bark Busters therapists worldwide. It is hugely rewarding for me, and my clients, to see them rebuild their relationships with their dogs, and their dogs changing in front of their eyes into focused and responsive members of the family. It’s lovely working with dog owners and the sometimes-anxious owners bringing home a new puppy or rescue dog for the very first time to join the family. Showing them how to ensure their new family member has the very best help to settle in.
If you are looking for quality dog training near you in Tamworth, you have found the right place. My training programme is easy to follow for both you and your dog. It is based on the way dogs naturally communicate with each other, using voice tone and body language. It’s simple and easy to follow methods, and in most cases, you see a difference in the way your dog responds to you, before the end of the first lesson. Most of the training is incorporated within daily routines and walks or setting aside just 15 or 20 minutes daily, even in small 5-minute sessions. After our first lesson, I will leave you with an individual, personalised training plan for you and your dog covering any specific behaviour problems. Our unique support guarantee will give you the peace of mind, knowing that I'm always here if you have any concerns, and I return free of charge to help and support you further.
If you are having problems such as boisterousness, excessive barking, separation anxiety, aggression, toilet training, resource guarding, pulling on the lead, sibling rivalry, aggression, destruction, lack of recall or much more, or you would like to make sure your puppy has the best start in life, I can provide a programme to suit you. Please do make contact to find out how I can help.

About me
My life began in Southeast London and growing up there with often up to 7 small dogs. No wonder I developed such an affinity for them. After leaving education, I successfully worked in various industries mostly in the motor trade and then moved to Kent to raise my family.
Over the years dogs became a huge part of my life. I began fostering dogs from local rescue groups that needed help, some having behaviour problems. Most were successfully rehomed, but some never left the rescue. I first learned of Bark Busters following the arrival of Coco, a strong pulling labrador with reactive tendencies towards other dogs. My local Bark Busters therapist and trainer, Andy, arrived and quickly helped me to rehabilitate her issues. The techniques I learned have allowed me to help many fostered dogs and to help them find a forever home.
Having moved to beautiful South Staffordshire following changes in my life, I was able to follow my dream of becoming a Bark Busters dog behaviour therapist and trainer and I now work in this fabulous area.
