Dog Training Warwick & Home Puppy Behaviour
Welcome to dog training Warrick, I am Emma Barrett, your local Bark Busters dog behaviourist therapist and trainer. I help you to understand and resolve your dog's unwanted behaviour as well as your general training needs too. Whether you are struggling with aggression towards other dogs, animals or people, jumping up, pulling on the lead, nuisance barking or any other behaviour issue, or need help with a new rescue or maybe a new puppy with toileting or crate training, I'm here to help you resolve the issues. I deal with any breed, any age, and any behaviour problem.
I will work with you on a one-to-one basis in your home and surrounding areas, with the family or anyone who is involved with your dog. My tailored training programmes help you to understand the reasons why your dog may be acting in an unwanted way, and I show you simple, kind, calm training techniques and games that replicate real life situations. I show and guide you and your dog into the new "wanted" behaviours. Most people will see a big change during the very first lesson, then with my free of charge ongoing support and your commitment to practice, you will find that you can rebuild the bond with your dog, whilst you both enjoy the process. It's important to me that you, as well as your dog, thoroughly enjoy and have fun with the games and therefore get the best value possible from my training system.
Backed by the Bark Busters Support Guarantee you will have peace of mind that I will return, free of charge, to support and guide you through the term that you have purchased. You can feel confident knowing that I am only a phone call or an email away from continuing to help you when you need the support.
If you have an overprotective German Shepherd, a nipping Border Collie, a noisy terrier, a "doodle" that won't come back when you call, or any issue that is stopping you from enjoying your dog 100% of the time, then please do contact me to find out more about how I can help you get things back on track. I look forward to helping you and your dog.

About me
I was desperate to have a dog of my own when I was young, but no doubt for sensible reasons, my parents explained that it wasn't possible.
Things changed once I had a home of my own and I got my first dog, a gorgeous Labrador. Since then, I've had several dogs, Springer Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels, and other Labradors, all working type breeds who were amazing dogs and easy to train. I enjoyed working with my Labrador who, true to her breed, thoroughly enjoyed her job.
I had a career in the corporate world, but it did not provide job satisfaction and as I was very keen to work with dogs, I studied hard and became qualified as a dog groomer. Dog psychology has always been a passion of mine so I researched and read everything I could find. It helped in my work being able to calm nervous dogs needing their nails clipped, getting used the clippers and dryer noises too. Quietly controlling suspicious and reactive dogs to gradually accept the pampering they deserved was a real bonus.
Customers would tell me about some behaviour issues they were experiencing with their dogs, and the knowledge I'd gained from my studies enabled me to suggest the possible reasons behind the behaviour and offer tips and advice. It was so rewarding when they told me that the advice had helped with the unwanted behaviour.
I decided that I would like to become a full-time canine behaviourist and looked at various ways to achieve this. I looked at correspondence courses, or interactive internet training but didn't think they would be able to give me the confidence that the methods worked or would provide the type of support that I wanted. Then I found Bark Busters and its calm methods that dogs naturally understand, using canine psychology to help dog owners understand the "why" behind the unwanted behaviour. It was also a plus to join a successful 35-year-old company, with great back-office support, with a group of likeminded behaviour therapist, too. Such an easy decision and I've never regretted a moment of my time since.
My current dog, Tammy is a fun loving, nonstop busy Cockperpoo, with a non-shedding coat that I can trim and groom myself. I love her to bits, but as a puppy she used to growl and threaten to bite over items she had stolen, and her food too. The Bark Busters methods enabled me to retrain her brain to understand that she had no need to guard, and she soon became a joy to live with.
