About me
I have been a Bark Busters trainer for some years now, but my dog training journey really started when I adopted Cassie, my first dog as an adult after leaving home. I realise now how much work my parents must have put in training the family dogs growing up, but I was blissfully unaware back then. Cassie was a young rescue dog who cleverly adopted me when I went to a rescue centre in Derby. I trained her myself and she became an amazing dog.

Twenty-five years later and my pet dog is Perra, a German Shepherd cross Galgo Espanol (a Spanish Greyhound type hunting dog). She is a rescue from Spain and joined the family in 2016 when she was about 7 months old. I remember when the charity was transporting her over, there was a GPS transmitter in the van and my wife and I spent about 3 days not talking to each other, just sitting watching our phones as the little flashing dot on the map travelled from Spain to outside our house! It was a big risk adopting from a few videos and photos, but she is a great dog despite some blips along the way, like dog reactivity issues that we have addressed, so I do know how my clients feel when their dog spots other dogs from 10 miles away and they start to worry.
