Sarah Coleman
My name is Sarah Coleman, and I am your local Bark Busters dog behaviour therapist and trainer. If you're reading this, you may have one or more behaviour problems with your dog that you would like to change, you may be looking for general dog obedience training, or you may have welcomed a new puppy and want to give them the best start in life.
I work one-to-one in your home with all the family, or anyone who is involved with your dog. I show you the reasons why your dog is showing the unwanted behaviour and I show you simple, kind, and calm techniques to help the process of change. My methods are dog friendly, and I teach you how to use your body language and voice tones to communicate with your dog in a way that they can understand and respond. I tailor the training to your dog and your circumstances, demonstrating how and why your dog’s behaviour will change. You will have the opportunity to practise these training skills while I’m with you, so that you are confident that you can continue with the programme before I leave.
My training is incorporated within daily walks or setting aside just 15 to 20 minutes daily, even in small 5-minute sessions. With this, most people start to see a substantial change during our first lesson. You have the peace of mind that I am here to help and support you and your dog. My support guarantee means that I will return free of charge for the term you have purchased. With your patience and practice, you will soon find that you can enjoy your dog so much more.
My lessons are packed with training games for you and your dog, together with written information and advice. You receive a training plan with activities to practice helping you to shape your dog’s behaviour, along with other training tips and advice too. I want you to enjoy your training with your dog, and with the help and support from me I help you to achieve the results you need. My commitment is to you and your dog, and I will return free of charge to help and support you for the term you have purchased. This is the Bark Busters Support Guarantee!
If you are experiencing behaviour problems with your dog or looking for general training, or you may have adopted a rescue dog, welcomed a new puppy, or added another dog to your family and issues have developed, I can help show you how, patience, consistency, and your newly learned methods of speaking their language, will allow you to understand your dog’s behaviour, and you will have the methods to stop the unwanted behaviour.
I can help you with general obedience training or problems such as pulling on the lead, jumping up, barking, recall, digging, chewing, or more complex behaviour problems such as separation anxiety, sibling rivalry, reactivity or aggression to animals or people.
Don’t hesitate to contact me to start your new happy life with your dog.
About me
I was born in Southeast London and grew up there with my family being entertained by often up to 7 small dogs. After leaving education, I worked in various industries mostly in the motor trade and then moved to Kent to raise my family. Four children with all living at home, along with my 4 Labradors. A busy life indeed!
Over the years I realised that dogs were an essential part of my life, so I began working with local rescue groups fostering dogs in need, some successfully rehomed, some who never left. Most of them had behaviour problems, trauma, anxiety, aggression, and other unwanted behaviours caused by their prior individual situations. One of them was Coco a lovely chocolate Labrador, who became aggressive with other dogs who approached her and was a real puller on the lead. This caused me aching shoulders and a bad back and I began to dread taking her out. I realised that I could do with some help. I found Bark Busters and the local dog behaviour therapist, Andy, instantly changed mine and Coco’s life! Since then, I have helped lots of dogs with the same easy and gentle Bark Busters methods.
I now live in beautiful Staffordshire and changes in my own life have allowed me to become a Bark Busters dog behaviour therapist and work in this fabulous area.
