Welcome to dog training Wolverhampton, my name is Tom Ryan, and I am your local dog behaviour therapist and trainer for Bark Busters. I was born in the West Midlands, and after various moves, I have settled with my family, helping to raise four children. Bark Busters has become part of my family as my wife and eldest child are also behaviour therapists too.
After leaving school, I worked in a family-owned business learning how important customer service was and eventually became the owner of a thriving, successful company.
Our current furry family are 5 rescue dogs, who have found their forever home with us. Our interest and work with Bark Busters started a long time ago after engaging a Bark Busters' therapist to help us with Coco, a rescue of course, who showed aggression. She pulled so much on the lead, and it was a real worry trying to walk her. I was left in awe of how well she responded to the tailor-made training programme that was given to us and the amazing support we received. Our newly learned methods helped with other rescue dogs we adopted too.
Sadly, one of the reasons I joined the Bark Busters' family was a tragic accident to my dog Milo, my lovely chocolate labrador. He was staying with a pet sitter whilst I was away on holiday, and due to no fault of the pet sitter, as he was such a puller on the lead, he slipped his collar and was involved in a horrible traffic accident, and unfortunately, he didn't survive. Blaming myself for not training him more and telling myself that the incident could have been avoided, I had "managed" his behaviour problem or so I thought, instead of dealing with it.
My love of dogs and a desire to help others avoid difficult, or just annoying problems with their dogs, caused me to change my job and help others to enjoy and live happily with their furry family members 100% of the time.

I can help you with any issue that you might have with you dog, whether it is jumping up, aggression or reactiveness to dogs or people, excessive barking, separation anxiety, stealing items, pulling on lead, lack of recall or anything that is stopping you from enjoying your life with your dog. I work with all breeds and all sizes and of course, I love helping owners with puppies or adopted rescue dogs too.
During our first lesson, I will discuss your concerns, observe the behaviours that worry you, and devise a tailor-made training programme to fit in with your daily life to address the issues you are having with your dog. I will show and guide you to ensure that you are comfortable to carry out the training along with fun games that will be enjoyable to both you and your dog, and to ensure that the progress made in the first lesson, is continued.
The unique Bark Busters Support Guarantee provides return visits, free of charge, and ongoing help and support for the term you choose, for either one year of the lifetime of your dog. This includes any further visits to keep the training programme on track or even if new behaviours arise, whatever you need I'll be available to help.
